What is Ozone?
Ozone (O3) is known as Mother Nature’s best germicide and sanitizer because it scientifically destroys all airborne and surface pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, mold, and germs!
Naturally found in Earth’s atmosphere, ozone is a gas that is composed of three oxygen atoms. The third oxygen atom can detach from the complete ozone molecule, and re-attach to molecules of substances like bacteria, viruses, and mold. This re-attachment process punctures cell walls of the dangerous pathogens rendering them harmless!
Triatomic oxygen is introduced to virus
Oxygen atom ATTACHES to virus
OXIDATIVE burst punctures cell wall
Virus is destroyed only oxygen remains
Once the third oxygen atom has detached from the O3 molecule, the remaining two oxygen atoms are simply oxygen (O2) which is air we breathe.
In nature, O3 molecules are present in the air we breathe and are produced by sunlight (UV light) or lightening (corona or electrical discharge), but O3 can also be man-made.
Ozone: Over 125 Years of Natural Sanitization
Historically, ozone has been used for sanitization purposes for over 125 years! Here are some examples:
SANITIZE WATER
• In October 1893, the world’s first water treatment plant using ozone was installed in Ousbaden, Holland, and today there are over 3000 municipalities around the world that use ozone to clean their water and sewage, including all the great cities.
DEODORIZE
• Ozone is used to deodorize many things even to remove the smell of smoke in house after a fire.
DENTISTRY
• Multiple medical applications use ozone for disinfection. An interesting example is how dentists use ozone to treat dental “caries” or “decay” and other infections by applying ozone as a gas directly to the gums, or in oil or water.
DISINFECTION
• Ozone is 50 times more effective at disinfection compared to the most popular disinfectant, chlorine.
